POWDERPOST BEETLES TREATMENT

Powderpost beetles are often introduced in structures in building materials that usually have become infested in the lumberyard. These beetles may also enter homes as larvae or adults in firewood or in finished wood products such as cabinetry, flooring, paneling, furniture, and bamboo wooden art objects. These beetles can spread from infested material to other susceptible wood, bamboo, rattan or furniture in the house. Dead trees, dead portions of trees, bamboo and firewood piles can serve as natural sources of powderpost beetles that may fly into structures. It is possible for powderpost beetles to spread from firewood to flooring, furniture, and paneling in a home. Another source of powderpost beetles in warehouse and other structures are wooden pallets stored indoors for extended periods.

Among the numerous powderpost beetle control techniques employed by our company are:

  1. Thorough inspection to determine the most appropriate IPM procedures to be implemented for prompt powderpost beetle reduction.
  2. Surface treament and injection treament shall be applied in exposed infested woods and in other pest habitat areas for the control of powderpost beetle.
  3. Thorough inspection shall be conducted by our trained pest control technicians, who shall be required to submit their written recommendations regarding the need for the improvement in pest habitat reduction.
