TERMITE CONTROL TREATMENT (ANAY)

Termites feed on materials that contain cellulose, primarily dead wood and wood by-products. They are closely associated with the soil habitat where they excavate a network of tunnels through the soil to reach water and food. From the soil, a whole army can pass through the smallest crack (1/16th of an inch) of a foundation. In their search for food, they chew a path; hence damaging whatever may be in their path such as electrical wiring, hardwood door and window frames, wood paneling, floor parquets, cupboards, books, roof beams and joists. There may be no obvious sign, but all the wooden structures and supports in the building will start to weaken, leading to the collapse of the whole building. Termites are found worldwide but are more widespread in warm tropical countries such as the Philippines.

Thomas Cowan & Co., Inc. offers two treatment methods for termite pest control. The  pre-construction and post-construction treatment.

Pre-Construction Treatment:

  1. FOUNDATION TREATMENT – Full strength termiticide solution of Thomas Cowan Terraguard (FPA Registration No. 205-101-0753) shall be applied to the entire walling and flooring of the foundation columns and wall footings at the rate of 4 liters per square meter.
  2. BACKFILL TREATMENT – Termiticide solution of Thomas Cowan Terraguard shall be injected into the backfill with the use of soil poisoning rod.
  3. SLAB-ON GROUND TREATMENT – The finished ground prior to landscaping or concrete slab shall be sprayed with termiticide solution of Thomas Cowan Terraguard.

Post Construction Treatment:

  1. PRE-INSPECTION – A comprehensive and thorough inspection of the entire premises shall be performed to determine the location, extent of the subterranean termite infestation and the extent of the damage.
  2. EXTERIOR TREATMENT OF THE BUILDING – The whole perimeter of the building and infested garden areas shall be injected with termiticide solution of Thomas Cowan Terraguard through the use of soil poisoning rod pressurized to 300 psi.
  3. INTERIOR TREATMENT OF THE BUILDING – The floor slab along both sides of concrete partition walls, including door jambs shall be drilled, injected and saturated with termiticide solution of Thomas Cowan Terraguard.
  4. WOOD PRESERVATION – Wood treatment insecticides shall be applied to termite infested wood. Additionally, termiticide powder will be applied to wall sockets and accessible wall voids/partitions to prevent reinfestation.
  5. POST TREATMENT-INSPECTION – Quarterly inspection shall be conducted to discover any recurrence of termite activity during the contract period. Termite activity discovered after the initial treatment and during the validity of the contract shall be re-treated free of charge.
